The London and Greater Manchester Marathons 2012 produced some fantastic results for Prestwich AC.
In London in the sun, Claire Elam ran a brilliant race and smashed her previous Marathon time finishing in 04:11:11.
A week later in Siberian conditions the Manchester Marathon took place, despite the weather conditions and the baggage chaos at the end everyone enjoyed the race and achieved some absolutely fabulous times.

Greater Manchester Marathon - PAC Runners Battle through the Wind and Rain

Well done to all the Prestwich AC Runners who completed the Greater Manchester Marathon on 29th April. Despite the wintry wind and rain, the PAC Members
produced some excellent times in the inaugural running of the marathon. Well done to all, and thanks to all our supporters for standing out in the cold and wet to
cheer us on

Club Championship - Mudd is flying!
There is no stopping Andy Mudd as he finishes first Prestwich runner at Coniston and Salford. His fine run of form has seen him collect forty points in the Men’s Club Championship.

The annual trip up to the lakes was enjoyed by all. After the recent heat wave the cool weather was perfect for racing and the Prestwich Runners took full advantage with some excellent times. Andy was first home closely followed by Dave and Jon. Alison was first Lady and took the 20 points in the Championship. Rodge and Roy continue to make fine progress on their return from injury. Finishing times were as follows:-
Andy 01:44:08, Dave 01:45:50, Jon 01:47:11, Alison 01:55:12, Paul 01:57:37, Rodge 01:58:11, Claire 02:07:37, Roy 02:39:55.
Salford 10k
This very flat course is proving to be very popular with runners as they see it as a chance to break their PB’s .A Fantastic effort from Andy saw him finish first in 42 minutes breaking his PB by some margin. Dave and Jon had a great race and took 2nd and 3rd and both achieved 10k PB’s. Well done to Tom for competing in his first Championship race in a very good time. Well done also to Paul who grabbed one of the last few places by entering on the day to keep his record of running in this race for the last 10 years.
